Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Greene County Criminal History. Reading a page, using a search box, or otherwise continuing on the website means the visitor accepts them. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify Greene County and Tennessee criminal-record resources. It is not a private-investigation service or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It does not maintain official records, submit filings, retrieve records, or perform official background checks.

The content routes readers to the Greene County sheriff and courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, and other official custodians. Some pages also contain outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on the following limits. A visitor must not:

  • Interfere with the service or prevent another person from using it
  • Use automated scraping, bot, or extraction tools against the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
  • Use site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass any person with information found here
  • Violate a local, Tennessee, or federal law while using the service

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information reached here to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or discriminate against another person. Misuse may also violate criminal law. Tennessee Sex Offender Registry data is supplied for public-safety awareness, not vigilantism or punishment. Tennessee law and the registry warning prohibit threats, retribution, harassment, and related misuse against a listed person or household.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Advertising partners likewise do not provide site tools for an FCRA-covered purpose. Information from the pages or linked tools may not be used to:

  • Set insurance eligibility, coverage, or premiums
  • Evaluate a person's creditworthiness
  • Make an employment decision
  • Review a rental or housing application
  • Decide eligibility where the FCRA applies

A legally permissible check for one of those purposes must come from the appropriate official channel or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Tennessee charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule affects a specific person. Seek advice from a licensed Tennessee attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • An outside search result will be complete or correct
  • Every page will be free from bugs, errors, or security defects
  • The service will always be available without interruption
  • Published information will remain current, complete, and accurate

Charges, dispositions, custody entries, sealing, and expungement can change a criminal record. Delays and gaps are unavoidable. Nothing here is an official statement or certified record from the Greene County courts, sheriff, TBI, or another government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government offices, courts, legal resources, and independent search services. A destination is outside our control. We are not responsible for its content, availability, fees, privacy practices, or accuracy, and visitors should review that provider's terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Greene County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, its content, or a linked service, including reliance on any result.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from a claim, demand, or action caused by that visitor's use of the service or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§47-18-101 and following. Any dispute tied to use of the service must be brought in a court located in Tennessee. The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§10-7-501 through 515, governs qualifying public agencies and does not make this private site a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. The affected term will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
